311 Systems can provide a source of citizen-based local government performance data. Not every 311 system, however, uses the data for performance measurement. Among those that do, not all report information to the public. Here is a list of websites of cities that do report at least some 311 data to the public:

Governing has a good and thoughtful piece on implementation of 311 on a county and city basis in Miami and Charlotte. Take a look at "The Buzz About 311" at
